About the Event
Join us for the first-ever North Hamilton County Recycling Event, hosted by Keep Soddy-Daisy Beautiful and generously funded by Keep Tennessee Beautiful! We’re dedicated to making recycling easier and more accessible for our community. From mattresses to e-waste and sneakers, we’re covering a wide range of recyclables to help clean up our environment.
Additionally, we’re excited to announce extended recycling hours and tire recycling services at the Sequoyah Recycling Center from April 22nd to April 27th.

What We’re Recycling at the Main Event (April 20th):
- Mattresses (Thanks to Spring Back Mattress Recycling and Absolute Waste Management)
- Please note: Mattresses cannot be urine-soaked, wet, or infested with bugs.
- Electronics Recycling / E-Waste (Courtesy of Franklin eWaste)
- Accepting both residential and commercial electronics.
- Accepted items: Anything with a cord or battery, including software, CDs, DVDs, VHS, video game cartridges & LP/Vinyl records.
- Not accepted: Appliances (refrigerators, stoves, etc.) or large box TV sets.
- Batteries (In partnership with Terracycle)
- Accepted items: 9-volt, AA, AAA, Alkaline, C, D, Drycell, Iron, Lithium & Lithium-Ion, Nickel Cadmium, Nickel Metal Hydride, Silver, Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS), and Zinc Carbon Batteries.
- Not accepted: Other battery types.
- Inkjet Cartridges (In partnership with InkRecycling.org)
- Accepted items: Any empty inkjet cartridges.
- Not accepted: Remanufactured inkjet cartridges.
- Sneakers (In partnership with GotSneakers)
- Athletic sneakers only. No non-athletic footwear such as dress shoes, heels, sandals, etc.
- Non-paired (single) sneakers and non-athletic footwear will not be accepted.
Sequoyah Recycling Center Extended Hours & Tire Recycling (April 22nd – April 27th):
- The Sequoyah Recycle Center will be open:
- Monday through Saturday: 8 am to 4 pm
- Sunday: Closed
- Tire Recycling (In partnership with Liberty Tire):
- Monday through Thursday: 8 am to 6 pm
- Friday and Saturday: 8 am to 4 pm
- Tires must be relatively clean. Dirty tires cannot be accepted.
- Clean tires without rims accepted for $1.00 per passenger tire; $4.00 per semi or larger tire. All tires must be able to be handled by hand.
- Only personal household tires accepted. No Dealers or businesses. Cash only accepted.
