As the fall season settles in, Keep Soddy-Daisy Beautiful (KSDB) is thrilled to reflect on the meaningful work we’ve accomplished this year. Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our volunteers, donors, and community members, 2024 has been an incredible year of progress—and the best is yet to come! As we approach the end of the year, we’re excited to share our Soddy-Daisy Fall Volunteer Opportunities and express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support.
Our Impact Since 2021 🌿
Since we began our work in the Soddy-Daisy area in 2021, we’ve made tremendous strides in beautifying and improving our community. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve achieved together:
- 1,799 Volunteers
- 9,294 Hours Volunteered
- 210 Litter Cleanups
- 110,190 lbs of Litter Removed
- 105 Trees Planted
- 2,105 Tires Recycled
- 6 Festivals, 5 Blood Drives, 1 Major Landscaping Project, and 1 Beautiful Mural
These numbers reflect our community’s commitment to keeping Soddy-Daisy clean, green, and beautiful. We couldn’t have done this without the incredible efforts of our volunteers, donors, and partners. Together, we’re making a real difference!

1. Volunteer at the Halloween EEKstravaganza! 🎃👻
Date: Saturday, October 26th, 2023
Location: Soddy Municipal Park
Time: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Two Shifts Available: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
Join us at this fun community event as part of our Soddy-Daisy Fall Volunteer Opportunities, where we’ll be hosting a fishing game. We need volunteers to help run our booth and share the Halloween spirit with local families. Dress up in your favorite family-friendly costume and enjoy a fun-filled day with KSDB!

2. Rescheduled Fall Festival: Volunteers Needed! 🎉🍁
Date: Saturday, November 23rd, 2024
Location: Soddy Lake Municipal Park
Time: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Multiple shifts available)
Our Fall Festival is back after being rescheduled due to weather, and we need your help to make this event a success! Volunteers are needed for event setup, vendor support, attendee direction, and activity management. As a token of our appreciation, volunteers will receive a Fall Festival T-shirt, complimentary food and drinks, and access to our volunteer lounge.

What to expect at the festival:
- Free Family Activities: Face painting, balloon artistry, bounce houses, and more!
- Food Vendors & Market Stalls
- Nonprofit and Church Partners
- Live Music & Entertainment featuring performances by Nina Ricci, Richard Daigle, and Ryan Oyer, as well as magic shows and balloon art by Mike “The Balloon Guy” Edwards.

3. Upcoming Blood Drive: Save the Date! 🩸

Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: Stuart Heights Baptist Church, 10049 Dayton Pike, Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379
We’re partnering with the American Red Cross to host our community blood drive. Your donation could save lives. If you’re able to donate blood, please sign up in advance to secure your spot!

Our Impact on Local Schools 🏫
We’re passionate about engaging with students to foster environmental stewardship, and we’ve been involved in two fantastic school programs this fall:
- Autumn Animal Festival at Ivy Academy 🦋: On October 8th, we taught students about pollinators and their critical role in the ecosystem. Activities included creating pipe cleaner bees and dissecting flowers to explore pollination.
- Outdoor & Hiking Club at Soddy-Daisy Middle School 🌲: This fall, we led multiple sessions focused on outdoor safety, mindfulness in nature, and environmental protection. We’re thrilled to be working with students who are eager to learn how to care for our planet!

Thank You to Our River Rescue Volunteers! 🌊
We want to extend a huge thank you to the 25 volunteers who joined us for the Annual River Rescue at Big Soddy Creek Gulf on October 10th. Together, we collected 31 bags of trash, making a significant impact on our local environment. Your dedication to protecting our waterways is inspiring!
